Accomplishments

Claire Macken, Minerva University’s provost, oversees teaching and learning, academic programs, academic partnerships, student academic support, institutional research, accreditation and academic standards as well as student life, coaching and talent development.

Before joining Minerva, Dr. Macken was a higher education leader across Australia and Vietnam, including pro vice-chancellor and general director of RMIT Vietnam and associate deputy vice-chancellor learning and teaching in the College of Business and Law at RMIT University in Australia. Earlier, Dr. Macken was a director at KPMG and at Apple.

Dr. Macken received the Australian Award for Teaching Excellence and an Australian Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Engagement. In 2023, the Australian Financial Review named Dr. Macken one of the Top 5 Women to Watch in Education.

Dr. Macken is the author of 10 books as well as many book chapters and journal articles in the areas of law and tertiary education. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy, a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law degrees with honors.
